The Bristol 411 was introduced in 1970 and was fitted with a 6.5 litre Chrysler V8 and Torqueflite automatic transmission. At the time it was claimed to be the fastest 4 seat car in the world. It was built by hand to aircraft standards in small numbers (about 260 cars in all) over 5 series at Filton. See Cars for sale page for full details of this very late example in immaculate condition.
The Ace Brooklands was the result of an extensive development programme by the "new" AC company controlled by Brian Angliss and Ford Motor Co. The car featured a 4.7 litre Ford V8 in an entirely new stainless steel chassis with aluminium bodywork and about 70 were made between 1993 and 2000. This car was the first production model and the 1993 Earls Court Motor Show car. Sold by the factory to its only owner it has covered 28000 miles from new.
It is some time since we have had an Ace Brooklands and we have been really enjoying this car. We are very surprised how well it drives and how practical and comfortable it is. It has plenty of power but is tractable, the gearbox is sweet and the steering light with powerful brakes. What an interesting car - and something of a bargain! In the same ownership for the last 14 years this Iso Rivolta is one of only 13 RHD examples manufactured. Registered in the UK in 1967 the car has been prepared in line with Appendix K regulations and has raced with the Historic Touring Cars series with the HSCC. All mechanical parts have been replaced including a Martin Saville 327 ci engine, a Muncie style 4 speed gearbox and a rebuilt limited – slip diff 3.54.1 ratio rear axle.
